Slack

What your agent can do

  • Send messages to channels or DMs
  • Read messages from channels it has access to
  • Post formatted messages with markdown, blocks, and attachments
  • Mention users and channels
  • React to messages with emoji
  • Read thread replies

Connecting Slack

  1. Go to Console → Tools → Slack
  2. Click Connect Slack
  3. Select the Slack workspace to connect
  4. Review and approve the permissions
  5. Click Allow

Configuring channel access

  1. Go to Tools → Slack → Channel Settings
  2. Add the channels the agent should have access to
  3. Set read vs. write permissions per channel

Example tasks

  • “Send a message to #engineering with today’s deployment summary”
  • “Check #support for any urgent messages in the last 2 hours and summarize them”
  • “Post the weekly report to #general with a thread for questions”
  • “Alert #on-call that the database latency is above threshold”

Deploying an agent to Slack
